How to Reach Your 2024 Goals Successfully

We want you to reach your 2024 goals successfully! You can have your best year yet, it just takes some concentrated effort to plan smart goals. Everyone knows the typical steps to achieve your goals: decide on your goal, create the steps needed to reach the goal, and commit to taking those steps in a timely manner. We like to think differently about how we achieve success. Although you may scoff at this method, we ask you to keep an open mind.

2022 goals

We believe that you are capable of setting strong, achievable goals in 2024!

Perhaps you’ve been working out the ways you can strategize your efforts to get that big promotion, secure that much-deserved raise, and/or make your team run like a well-oiled machine. And while placing the stepping stones with which you can make real change is a challenge in itself, committing to actually taking them is the next step. But guess what?

Today, we’ll be sharing a few tips to shift the way you think about your 2024 goals this new year.

In fact, we’re here to let you know that the things that you desire the most aren’t even about increasing your productivity. Instead, they revolve around your purpose

Why Your Goals Matter in Leadership

You might be sitting here, reading this, thinking, “Whatever, Carrie. Purpose won’t ever help us get the numbers we need.” If this is the case for you, then read carefully––because at Leadology, we have a very different way of thinking about, pursuing, and achieving success.

So, what’s the real importance of having purpose-driven goals?

Well, the short of it is the fact that your team can become more engaged with their own individual contributions to larger goals when they’re aware of the greater impact they can have. With collective purpose––or a common mission––people are more easily motivated, focused, and driven to succeed. And with this shared mindset, results are quicker to show within teams.

How-to Set Strong 2024 Goals

So how can leaders begin to instill a sense of shared purpose in their teams?

  1. Prioritize time for strengths-based development

When your team is able to specifically narrow in on utilizing and honing individual strengths, their level of engagement is bound to change dramatically. As a leader, consider how time and tasks can be adjusted to better align with your team’s strengths and passions. This may be in the form of delegating tasks differently or tweaking responsibilities as necessary.

  2. Help team members reconnect to the values of the company

In order to start digging deep when it comes to putting purpose behind one’s work, it’s important for your team to consider the following:

    • What are you contributing to?

    • Who is relying on you?

    • What do you want to learn?

    • How do you want to have an impact?

These questions might serve as a starting point for your team members with their motivations to work for your company in the first place. When in touch with these ambitions, your team can more easily discover how their individual purposes connect with your team’s shared missions.

  3. Ask intentional purpose-driven, coaching questions

As the year comes to a close, pose the following question to your team: In 2024, what’s something you know you can do that you haven’t had a chance to do?

Not only will a question like this make your team members feel seen and heard, but it calls on them to think outside the box and commit to pursuing a goal with confidence and purpose.
